Pequity Overview for ADP Lyric HCM Users

Pequity is a compensation planning platform built for HR and Total Rewards teams.

Welcome to Pequity!

Pequity gives you one place to manage your compensation program alongside ADP Lyric HCM. You can run merit, bonus, equity refresh, and promotion cycles using employee data pulled directly from your ADP Lyric HCM.

Your ADP Lyric HCM Data

Pequity connects directly to your ADP Lyric HCM data. Your employee records are available in Pequity without any manual setup.

If you need to include data that is not in Lyric, you can import a CSV file to add additional fields or employee attributes to any part of Pequity.

Key Pequity Tools & Features

Ranges

The Ranges tool is where you set up and manage your pay bands. You can organize salary ranges by job family, level, and geography, with Low, Mid, and High values for each comp element (base salary, equity, bonus). Ranges are used across comp cycles to calculate each employee's Compa Ratio and Salary Penetration.

People

People is your employee roster and the starting point for all compensation work in Pequity. Each employee record includes their ID, name, job information, salary, and manager. Records are loaded from Lyric automatically. You can import additional fields via CSV. Pequity includes column mapping tools to help validate your data before it goes live.

Comp Cycle

Comp Cycles is where you plan and run compensation decisions. You can run merit, bonus, equity, and promotion cycles with configurable budgets, formulas, and manager workbooks. Each cycle is independent, so you can run multiple at the same time.

Team Member Types

There are two global team member types in Pequity:

  • Company Admin: Full access to all platform settings, data, and tools. Company Admins are set up during onboarding and are responsible for inviting other users.
  • User: Access is granted on a per-tool basis. Users are assigned permissions in the Global Team Member settings page or within individual comp cycles.

Setting Up a Comp Cycle

Before a cycle opens, Company Admins configure the following:

  • Which pay components are included (salary, bonus, equity, etc.)
  • Which columns managers will see in their workbook
  • Budgets, either formula-driven (for example, 4% of each employee's salary) or as a fixed dollar amount per team
  • Formulas for automated recommendations, such as a merit matrix based on performance and range position. Pequity includes a Formula Copilot to help you write and test formulas.

Comp Cycle Roles

  • Company Admin: Full access to cycles, settings, data, exports, and wave timing
  • Planner: Enters and adjusts recommendations for their planning group. The only role that can submit final approval and lock the workbook.
  • Planning Partner: Can modify inputs and leave comments for the Planner (typically an HRBP). Cannot submit final approval unless a Company Admin grants that permission.
  • Custom Role: Configured per cycle. Examples include read-only access for leadership or an HR view without salary figures.

NOTE: Any user role can only see employees in their assigned Planning Group. Once a Planner submits their workbook, it locks. A Company Admin can reopen it if changes are needed.

Planning Groups & Waves
Planning Groups

A Planning Group is the set of employees one Planner is responsible for. Every employee in a cycle belongs to exactly one Planning Group. Admins can create groups manually or upload them via spreadsheet.

Waves

Waves control who is planning and when. Each wave is a phase that admins open and close manually. A typical setup looks like this:

  • Wave 1: Manager Planning Groups enter recommendations

  • Wave 2: HR or Total Rewards Planning Groups review and approve

  • Wave 3 (optional): Executive Planning Groups review before managers begin

Admins can open multiple waves at the same time to allow parallel planning across groups.

Reward Letters

After a cycle closes, you can generate personalized reward letters for each employee. Letters pull data directly from the cycle, including salary, bonus, equity amounts, and effective dates.

  • Letter templates must be configured before the cycle closes (copy, placeholders, logo, and signatories)
  • Admins control when letters are generated and when other roles can access them
  • Letter status is shown with color-coded icons so you can track what has been sent
  • Planners can bulk download letters for their own team
  • Letters can be sent directly from Pequity via email or downloaded as a bulk zip file for distribution through your own channels
  • An exportable report shows which letters have been sent, which supports compensation audit processes
