How to Manage Range Permissions in Pequity

How to change or update an individual users range access in Team Member Settings.

Pequity has made it easier to manage who can view compensation ranges by introducing Range Access Groups. This update provides more flexibility and makes it simple to manage permissions across multiple employees and users.

What's Changed?

Previously, range permissions were managed in the Team Members section under settings. Now, they’ve moved to the Range Settings page and are organized using Access Groups.

NOTE: This can only be done by set Company Admins and Team Leads of the organization. Please refer to Pequity Comp Cycles category for how to manage user access for individual cycles.


What Are Range Access Groups?

Range Access Groups let you assign view permissions to multiple users at once. This is particularly useful when:

  • Managers or recruiters need access to specific ranges.

  • You want to apply the same access to a group of people (e.g., all recruiters for a specific geo or function).

If a user already had range access before this update, Pequity automatically created a personalized access group for them — typically named using the format:
[User Name] Access

You’ll still see how many ranges each group allows the user to view in the Team Member Settings.


How to Edit Range Permissions for a User

  1. Go to the Ranges tab in your admin panel. Select Settings.

  2. Search for the user whose access you want to update.

  3. Click the Edit (✏️) icon next to their name.

  4. You'll now see a familiar interface — similar to what was previously in Team Members — to manage which ranges they can view.

  5. Select Save to apply your edits.

How to Create a New Range Access Group

You can create new access groups in two ways:

From Range Settings:

  1. Navigate to Range Settings.

  2. Click “Create Ranges Access”.

  3. Define the name and choose which ranges the group can access.

  4. Assign team members to the group via the Team Member settings, by single-selecting or bulk-selecting users, and selecting Range Access > Grant Range Access.

From Team Members:

  1. Navigate to Team Members.

  2. Within the Ranges column, select “Choose Access” for a user.

  3. Select an existing group or choose “Add New”, which will take you to Range Settings to complete setup.
