Pequity Comp Cycle Admin Training

Welcome Admins! Here's how to get your cycle started.

Step 1: Add your admins

Your Goal: Add any additional admins that will be configuring the backend of the cycle

Add additional admins to your workspace to help configure and manage compensation cycles more efficiently.

Step 2: Configure Your Comp Cycle

Your Goal: Build a cycle using frontend functionality

Save time by cloning a previous cycle and making adjustments as needed. Cloning preserves key details such as column configurations, formulas, layouts, and roles, so you can quickly build on a proven setup instead of starting from scratch.

Our Standard Support team can help with async guidance on configuring budgets, pay components, manager workbook columns, any automated formulas etc.

Step 3: Configure Planning Groups & Waves

Your Goal: Create your Planning Hierarchy using frontend functionality

A Planning Group is the set of employees one Planner is responsible for. Every employee belongs to exactly one group. You can create groups manually or via spreadsheet upload.

Waves

Waves control the order of planning. A typical setup:

Admins open and close waves manually and can run multiple waves at the same time.

Roles to know: Company Admins have full access. Planners enter and submit recommendations. Planning Partners (typically HRBPs) can review and comment but cannot submit unless granted permission.

Step 4: Generate Reward Letters

Your Goal: Design & generate Reward Letters using frontend functionality

Once a cycle closes, Pequity can generate personalized reward letters for each employee, pulling salary, bonus, equity, and effective dates directly from the cycle.

Set up your letter template (copy, logo, signatories) before the cycle closes. From there, letters can be emailed directly from Pequity or bulk-downloaded as a zip file. An exportable report tracks send status for audit purposes.

NOTE: This step can be deferred until after launch. We recommend prioritizing compensation data configuration, workflow setup, and end-to-end testing first to ensure recommendations, approvals, and reporting are functioning correctly. Reward letter design and generation can be completed afterward without impacting the core compensation cycle launch.

Step 5: Testing

Your Goal: Finalize your cycle using frontend functionality & Test with your team

You're ready to begin testing! Feel free to clone your cycle, swap planner views, and simulate submissions to make sure you feel comfortable launching your cycle! A pre-launch call using one of your Implementation hours can be arranged with the Pequity team to review your cycle & pre-launch steps!
