How to Generate a New API Key if You've Forgotten Your Secret Key

If you've lost your API secret key, don’t worry! You can easily generate a new one. Simply log into your account, navigate to the API settings, and request a new key. Be sure to store your new secret key securely, as it cannot be recovered once lost.

Step 1: Access Settings

• Open the Pequity App.
• Navigate to the Settings page.

Step 2: Go to API Section

• Once you're on the Settings page, scroll to the bottom left-hand section.
• Select the "API" option.

Step 3: View Current API Key

• On the API page, you will see your current API Key, a hidden Secret, and the date when the API Key was created.

Step 4: Delete Current API Key

• To generate a new API key, click the trash bin icon located on the right side of the row containing the current API Key.

Step 5: Confirm New API Key Creation

• After clicking the trash bin icon, a notification will appear confirming that your previous API key has been deleted.

Step 6: Generate a New API Key

• Click the "Create API Key" button to generate a new API Key.

Step 7: Save the New API Key

• A new API Key and Secret will be generated.
• Save the new API Key immediately. Copy the Secret to a secure location for future reference.
• Use the download button next to the trash bin icon to easily save the credentials to your device.

Important Notes:

• Once an API Key is created, it will be hidden the next time you visit the page. Be sure to save it right away.
• The Secret can only be viewed once, so be sure to copy it or download the credentials for future use.
• Only Admin Users can generate new API Keys.
